Romania debuted in the Home Composed Song Contest in 2011. It made a far more successful return a decade later, with two top five finishes in the 2021 event - including victory with "Take Me Away" by CornEL. This was followed by podium finishes in 2022 and 2023 courtesy of Floriana.
