Poland first participated in the Home Composed Song Contest in 2006 and was most recently represented in the 2021 edition.

As the Polish entry in 2011 was disqualified due to a failure to submit votes on time, for a while Poland's results at HCSC were attributable solely to Patryk Smolarek, whose most notable achievement was winning the contest on his debut in 2006 with "Oddajcie im wolność". However, the country made a return to competition in 2021 after a decade's absence.
