English translation

This song is so boring,
But nonetheless I sing it.
I'll throw away all School-Swedish now.
Our dialect is just as good

The postman brought the letter from the government
Where it was written that our language isn't worth a penny.
The language that I spoke as a child was wrong,
And I wasn't able to pronounce my mother tongue Swedish.

Why aren't we allowed to use our language?
Only because there's no written form and none can understand what we say?

This song is so boring,
But nonetheless I sing it.
I'll throw away all School-Swedish now.
Our dialect is just as good

We were taught School-Swedish, how to write it and everything else.
We weren't allowed to write that "The meat balls I ate".
At the Swedish course the teacher told me that the sounds I used didn't exist
So what (non-existing) sounds do you currently hear?

Why aren't we allowed to use our language?
Only because there's no written form and none can understand what we say?

This song is so boring,
But nonetheless I sing it.
I'll throw away all School-Swedish now.
Our dialect is just as good

This song is so boring,
But nonetheless I sing it.
I'll throw away all School-Swedish now.
Our dialect is just as good

Halland is my country.
I have my home in Halland.
I feel at home whenever I visit Halland.
Halland is my country.
I have my home in Halland.
I feel at home whenever I visit Halland.
Halland is my country.
I have my home in Halland.
I feel at home whenever I visit Halland.
Halland is my country.
I have my home in Halland.
I feel at home whenever I visit Halland.
