Home Composed Song Contest 2025

Contest overview

The 2025 edition was organised by Andy Brook from the United Kingdom.

There were 24 participating songs from a total of 12 different countries. Previous winner CornEL returned after a few years away and fellow winners Roy Vorland and Stefan Engel teamed up on an entry, while Eurovision alumnus Tor Endresen even made an appearance as a vocalist. Elsewhere, a notable milestone was achieved as Martin Kahnberg's "Y bore" was recognised as the 700th entry in Home Composed history. Not bad for a competition that began with five entrants swapping audio cassettes by mail back in 1991!

Andy Brook recruited his musical collaborator Tiina Kolehmainen as co-host for the grand final, an impressive and entertaining show that can still be viewed in full here.

The 24 participant juries were joined by an internet-based public vote (shown as in the scoreboard table below) and no fewer than five guest juries. Online media were represented in the shape of the LGBTQ+ radio station GlitterBeam Radio (), the Swedish-language podcast Schlagervännerna (, including past HCSC entrant Marcus Björkander) and the now-traditional jury from Radio International (). Past entrant Gniewko Paw () contributed a youth perspective, while a jury from OGAE Ukraine () was invited to give its views in recognition of Ukraine's status as reigning Home Composed champion and the hard work by the 2024 edition's organising team.

In contrast to last year's dead heat for first place, ConstantX a.k.a. Constantinos Karaiskos from the United Kingdom was challenged for a while but ultimately pulled away for a fairly comfortable victory with the song "Summer Drifting", building on a very strong track record in the competition since making his debut in 2022.
